In the Shadow of Hope

In an attempt to contact their forerunners, the Hafhan built enormous processor towers in cold but open environments throughout different systems. The massive supercomputers were designed to operate alone but these ancient systems have managed to outlive their originators by aeons past without so much as an answer.

While descendant tribes of the Hafhan still exist, they no longer have the capability to interface with any of the devices their ancestors had built which now only exist as a faint reminder that the desire for family transcends space and time - even if no meaningful connection occurs. The towers slowly decay even with their self-repair reaching a point of entropy. You can only duct tape the same panel so much without an original blueprint to follow.

Personal piece, first time after a long time, done for myself. Painted in Photoshop with the aid of Stable Diffusion img2img to assist in certain details. :) Unfortunately, not having an nVidia card means I can't use any more fancy real-time features - uploading cuts of the work to IMGUR to get it processed by my frequently disconnecting Colab notebook means I don't have quite an edge on the time it will supposedly take in detailing the images automatically.
